Peabody, Mass., April 7, 2006 – JEOL USA, a leading supplier of electron microscopes and analytical instruments with annual sales of more than $100 million, has appointed Sales Director Peter Genovese to the position of Vice President. Mr. Genovese has held successive management positions in the sales organization since joining JEOL in 1983. He manages a sales team with regional offices throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico as well as South America.
JEOL USA, established in 1962 and headquartered in Peabody, Mass., is a wholly-owned subsidiary of JEOL Ltd. of Japan. JEOL USA employees a total of 300 people including service and sales personnel. JEOL scientific instruments are used worldwide in health sciences, forensics, biochemistry, nanotechnology, and the development of new materials and products used in manufacturing. The company manufactures electron microscopes, mass spectrometers, NMR spectrometers, e-beam lithography systems, and related equipment.
President and CEO Robert Santorelli announced Genovese’s promotion at the company’s annual sales and employee meeting at the beginning of the new fiscal year this week. “Pete has done a great job focusing the company’s resources and working closely with his colleagues on capturing business in a very competitive arena,” Santorelli said.
To meet the needs of advanced nanotechnological research, Genovese said, “We will continue to grow our business with industry-leading electron optics products for the nano world.”
Genovese is a 1980 graduate of Boston College where he received a B.S. degree in Economics, and a 1991 graduate of Suffolk University where he was awarded an Executive M.B.A. A native of North Reading, he is a resident of Reading, Mass., and is married with three children.
