Measurement examples of organic pigments using Laser Desorption/Ionization (LDI) and Field Desorption (FD)

Among samples in the materials field, some compounds are insoluble or poorly soluble in solvents; organic pigments are one such example. For insoluble/poorly soluble compounds, the choice of ionization method in mass spectrometry can be limited. In this work, commercially available organic pigments were analyzed using JMS-S3000 SpiralTOF™ and JMS-T200GC AccuTOF™ GCx-plus. Measurements were performed by matrix-free LDI (Laser Desorption Ionization) on the JMS-S3000 and by FD (Field Desorption) on the JMS-T200GC. Because good results were obtained with both methods, we report them here.
