End group structural analysis of polyphenylene sulfide by Direct Insertion Probe (DIP)-MS/MS

We have already reported an example of analysis of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) by TDP-DART-MS in MSTips No. 353. In this application, the same PPS was used as measurement sample, and DIP was used as a heating device. We report on the observation of four series of PPS with different end groups reported in MSTips No. 353 by DIP-MS and the structural analysis of the end groups by DIP-MS/MS.

Utilizing msFineAnalysis AI to Verify an Organic Synthetic Compound Structure Based on the Data Acquired by Gas Chromatography-High Resolution Mass Spectrometry and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance- EI/FI Measurement

In this work, we examined the chemical composition and structure of an organic synthetic compound using a JMS-T2000GC with msFineAnalysis AI and JNM-ECZ600 with ROYALPROBETMHFX.

Analysis of aroma components in honey by HS-SPME-GC-TOFMS

In this MSTips, we introduce the results of headspace-solid-phase microextraction-gas chromatography-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC-TOFMS) analysis of aroma components that affect the flavor of honey.

Analysis of aroma components in Japanese sake by HS-SPME-GC-TOFMS

In this MSTips we measured and compared the aroma components in sake samples.

Residual solvent analysis in cosmetic ingredient using single QMS mode and alternative carrier gases in GC/MS/MS

In this application note, we report the analysis of residual solvents in ethanol solution using nitrogen gas as an alternative carrier gas for seven solvent components classified as Class 1 and 2, as well as the quantitative analysis of 1,4-Dioxane in cosmetic ingredient.

Non-Targeted Analysis of Metabolites in Sake by using Gas Chromatograph - Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer (GC-TOFMS)

In this MSTips, we will report the results of non-targeted analysis of metabolites in sake using gas chromatograph time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC-TOFMS).

Rapid analysis of pyrolysis oil using blank tube-FI method and GC-EI/FI method of JMS-T2000GC

In this MSTips, we will introduce the analysis results of pyrolysis oil using the above methods. Pyrolysis oil is an oil obtained from waste plastic and rubber products. It is used as an alternative fuel to petroleum and as a raw material for recycled plastics. So, it is one of the important technologies related to the circular economy.

Analysis of the aroma components of spearmint essential oil by GC-TOFMS and AI structure analysis

In this MSTips, we introduce the results of analysis of the aroma components of spearmint essential oil by gas chromatography-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC-TOFMS). Since essential oils are natural materials extracted from flowers, leaves, and seeds of plants, they are expected to contain substances not registered in the NIST database. Therefore, we used JMS-T2000GC and msFineAnalysis AI, which are capable of AI structural analysis, for the analysis.

Identifying structural isomers using retention index - Qualitative analysis of mixed xylenes in lacquer paint using msFineAnalysis iQ

In this study, a commercially available lacquer paint was measured by pyrolysis GC/MS. Then, integrated qualitative analysis was performed using msFineAnalysis iQ. In this MSTips, we will report an identification example of mixed xylenes (xylol) using retention index.

EO/PO composition ratio analysis of EO-PO copolymer using JMS-S3000

In this application note, the EO/PO composition ratio using MALDI-TOFMS were investigated for the EO-PO copolymers with six different molecular weight distributions and EO/PO compositions.
